VISCONTI PORTOFINO FOUNTAIN PEN – EXTRA FINE.
Italy has more than 7500km of coastline, filled with historic harbor towns and traces of landmark sea culture. The Roman Empire also called the Mediterranean Sea the ‘Mare Nostrum’, Our Sea. There were also a lot of Italian explorers at the time. Just think of Amerigo Vespucci, Cristoforo Colombo and Da Verrazzano.
Portofino is a beautiful small town on the harbor in Liguria, the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Portofino is a trendy port city where fashion and high-end shops go hand in hand with boats and sea equipment. Several important regattas take place annually off the coast of Portofino. The pen celebrates the beautiful features and coziness of the typical Italian coastal towns, together with the passion for fashion and sailing that typify Portofino.
The Portofino pen has a screw-on cap and reproduces the luxurious look and feel of Italian vintage boats by using typical materials: stainless steel, enamel, and teak wood. The wooden body of the pen is surrounded by a thin metal frame with lacquered details. The cap is decorated with two metal rings and an enamel finish. The clip is Visconti’s nod to their hometown, Firenze, as the design is based on the Ponte Vecchio.
